7 Card Stud Poker Rules

Here is a brief introduction to 7 Card Stud.

Step 1: The Ante

  1. Before the initial deal of the cards, each Member must place an initial Ante (opening Bet), equaling one half of the Table's Lower Limit Stake (rounded down to the lowest $1), in the center of the Table, to seed the Pot.

Step 2: The Hole and Door Cards - The First Deal

  1. Each Member is dealt two facedown Hole Cards and one face up Door Card.

Step 3: The First Betting Round

Betting Limit: 1/2 of the Table's Lower Limit Stake

  1. The first Betting Round is initiated by the Member Sitting-in with the lowest valued card showing, by suit. This Member is required to Bet no less than the Bring-in amount (half of the Table's Lower Limit Stake), up to the Table's Lower Limit Stake.

Step 4: "Fourth Street" - The Second Deal

  1. Each Member, who is Sitting-in, is dealt one additional card, face up

Step 5: The Second Betting Round

  1. This Betting Round is initiated by the Sitting-in Member with the highest valued card(s) showing. This Betting Round is set at the Table's Lower Limit Stake.

Betting Limit: *Lower Limit Stake

*In the event that a Member is showing a pair, with his/her 2 face up cards, at the beginning of the first Betting Round, Members have the option to Bet in multiples of that Table's Lower or Higher Limit Stake. If a Member Bets at the Table's Higher Limit Stake, then all following Members must Bet at the Table's Higher Limit Stake.

Step 6: "Fifth Street" - The Third Deal

  1. Each Member, who is Sitting-in, is dealt one additional card, face up.

Step 7: The Third Betting Round

Betting Limit: Higher Limit Stake

  1. The Betting Round is initiated by the Sitting-in Member with the highest valued card(s) showing. This Betting Round is set at the Table's Higher Limit Stake.

Step 8: "Sixth Street" - The Fourth Deal

  1. Each Member, who is Sitting-in, is dealt one additional card, face up.

Step 9: The Fourth Betting Round

Betting Limit: Higher Limit Stake
This Betting Round is set at the Table's Higher Limit Stake.

  1. The Betting Round is initiated by the Sitting-in Member with the highest valued card(s) showing,

Step 10: "The River" - The Fifth and Final Deal

  1. Each Member, who is Sitting-in, is dealt one additional card, face down.

* Occasionally there are not enough cards in the deck to give each player his/her own final seventh card, the River, face down. In this case one card will be placed, face up, in the center of the table. This Community Boardcard will be shared by all remaining Sitting-in Members when determining their final hand (see The Showdown below).

Step 11: The Fifth Betting Round
Betting Limit: Higher Limit Stake

  1. The Betting Round is initiated by the Sitting-in Member with the highest valued card(s) showing. This Betting Round is set at the Table's Higher Limit Stake.

Step 12: The Showdown

  1. Once the fifth Betting Round is completed there is a Showdown (if more than one Member remains - see the Showdown above). In the Showdown, each active Member combines any combination of 5 of his/her total 7 cards, to create the highest valued Poker hand possible. (See Poker Hand Value Chart below).
  2. The active Member who creates the highest valued Poker hand wins the Pot, minus the Rake (see Limits, Antes and Rake). All-in Policy Applies to all game Pots (see Your Choosen Poker Room For All Policies).

RANKING OF HANDS FOR OMAHA HI/LO

Royal Flush
The highest ranking hand possible. An Ace, King, Queen, Jack and 10 of the same suit. Starting with an Ace, all five cards are in sequence and in a common suit.
Example: A, K, Q, J, 10

Straight Flush
Five cards both in sequence and common suit, but not starting with an Ace.
Example: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6

Four of a Kind
Four cards of the same rank.
Example: 5, 5, 5, 5, 2

Full House
Three cards of one rank and two cards of another rank.
Example: K, K, K, 4, 4

Flush
Five cards of same suit.
Example: K, J, 9, 6, 3

Straight
Five cards in sequence (Aces may be used high or low).
Example: 5, 4, 3, 2, A

Three of a Kind
Three cards of same rank.
Example: 9, 9, 9, A, 8

Two Pair
Two groups of two cards of same rank.
Example: 4, 4, J, J, A

A Pair
Two cards of the same rank
Example: 8, 4, J, J, A

High Card
Player With the Highest Card Wins
Example: 2, 2, 2, 2, A In This Case The High Card Is The Ace Of Clubs.
